The guest who sails tomorrow
They land tonight and want a boat by Thursday. That search happens once, on a phone, and the operator they can call or message right then takes the booking.
An activity platform can take 20 to 30 percent of every seat it sells for you, and 30 percent is the default for a new supplier. The same guest, booking from your own page, costs you nothing per seat.

The money
20 to 30 percent of the seat on GetYourGuide, with 30 percent the default for new suppliers. Established operators negotiate to 25 or 28. A direct booking costs zero.
The bi-weekly payout option adds about 2 percent on top of that. Viator publishes an 8 percent travel-agent commission, which is not the same as what it charges you as the operator, and no flat supplier rate is published anywhere. Read your own agreement.

Slow, patient, comparing. This is usually the private charter rather than the shared seat, and it arrives as an email or a message rather than a phone call.
Asked once of an assistant, answered with two or three operator names and nothing underneath. Either you are one of them or you are not in the conversation.
A proposal, a birthday, a company day out. One booking worth a boatful of seats, and it usually starts with a message rather than a checkout button.
What changes
Guests find the trip they want and reach you about it directly, your own booking link sits beside the platform listing, and every seat request gets counted.
Snorkel, sunset sail, private catamaran, the Antilla wreck. Guests search the experience they want. They cannot search your company name because they have never heard it.
A guest who only sees the platform listing has no reason to look for you directly. When your page shows up beside it, the commission-free version becomes an option.
How many guests called, messaged or asked about a charter, in one number a month, in plain language. No contracts and no minimum term.
Leads, not likes. If it is not a real person trying to buy from you, it does not go in the count.
Before you ask
No. Keep the listing, it fills seats you would not have filled. The aim is to stop paying a percentage on the guests who searched for a snorkel tour in Aruba and would have found you anyway.
20 to 30 percent, with 30 percent the default for a new supplier. High-volume operators negotiate down to 25 or 28. Choosing the bi-weekly payout adds roughly 2 percent on top of that.
Viator publishes an 8 percent travel-agent commission, which is a different thing from the supplier rate it charges you. Its supplier commission varies by location and is not published as a flat number, so check your own contract.
Those are Aruba's two lowest months, and off-peak rates run roughly 40 percent below peak. A page and a profile that keep producing enquiries do not switch off in the quiet season the way a paused ad budget does.
No contract. Month to month, stop whenever a month ends. Everything built for the business stays with the business, including the bookings that already came in.
